Baseball
Canton, 14 @ Norwell, 11 – Final – The Bulldogs scored in double digits for the third straight game to start the season and picked up their third win. Canton’s offense was on fire from the start, as the visitors scored five in the first and went into the bottom of the fifth leading 12-1. Norwell made it interesting with three in the fifth and then six runs in the sixth. The Clippers added a seventh run in the final inning but Canton had done enough to improve to 3-0. Owen Lane was 0-for-2 in the leadoff spot, but he drew three walks and scored three runs. Lane also pitched the first four innings and allowed just one earned run. Matt Chafin was 2-for-2 with a walk and four runs scored. Jack Digirolamo was 3-for-4 with a double and four RBI. Hayden Rose also drove in four runs, while Nick (two RBI) and Andrew Gillis (two runs) each had two hits. Digirolamo closed out the game, throwing the final 1-1/3 innings, striking out three and allowing one run.

Mansfield, 1 vs. Bishop Feehan, 9 – Final

Softball
Canton, 10 @ Rockland, 3 – Final – Shaelyn Murphy went the distance, striking out 13 batters to win her second game in as many days. Murphy also helped herself with two hits and two RBI. Olivia Mackwell powered the Canton offense with four hits and four RBI. Kailyn Durham had three hits and made a great defensive play in center. Jess Wright and Chloe Guerschuny added two hits apiece for the Bulldogs.

Boys Lacrosse
Attleboro, 5 @ Oliver Ames, 6 – Final – Oliver Ames overcame a two-goal deficit midway through the fourth quarter to pull out a win against visiting Attleboro. Ryan Jaco scored the game-winning goal with 30 seconds left to cap the comeback and complete a hat trick. Jason Zalis, Landon Grothe, Liam Dunlap and Lawrence Dear all played well on defense for the Tigers while Noah Isleib recorded 12 saves in net.

Canton, 5 @ Mansfield, 14 – Final – Click here for a photo gallery of this game – Mansfield junior Tommy Smith and freshman Nico Smith each scored four goals to lead the Hornets to a win over Davenport rival Canton. Both Tommy Smith and Nico Smith, along with Drew Sacco (two goals), scored early to give Mansfield a three-goal lead and the Hornets never relinquished that advantage. Cody Gordon added two goals an an assist, Andrew DeGirolamo had a goal and two assists, and Grady Sullivan had one goal and one assist. Senior Jeff Chaput and freshman Ethan Keleher each scored twice for Canton, AJ Thomas scored once, and Brendan Tourgee had three assists. Ryan DeGirolamo made 12 saves in net for Mansfield while Thomas Gormley had a strong game defensively. Canton’s Pat Drury had nine saves.

Foxboro, 18 @ Taunton, 1 – Final – Foxboro won for the second straight game to start the season. Michael McCabe had a goal and an assist in the win, while Michael DeBarros, Josiah Lewis, and Evan Vieira also found the back of the net for the Warriors, each recording their first varsity points. Freshman Cam Deleskey added two goals in the win.

North Attleboro, 8 @ King Philip, 11 – Final – King Philip raced out to a three-goal lead in the first quarter and stayed ahead of the visiting Rocketeers the rest of the way for an 11-8 win. Donovan DeVellis led the offensive charge for the hosts with a team-high seven points, scoring a hat trick and adding four assists for the Warriors, who held a 7-5 advantage at half. Hayden Schmitz also had a hat trick for KP and added two assists, Noah Minkwitz notched a pair of goals and a pair of helpers while Mason Thompson (two assists), Alex Viscusi, and Aiden McCarthy each scored once. Henry LeClair added an assist while senior goalie James Boldy had a strong game in net, turning away a handful of point blank chances from North.

Milford, 1 @ Sharon, 14 – Final








Girls Lacrosse
Oliver Ames, 13 @ Attleboro, 11 – Final – The Tigers erased a six-goal halftime deficit to stun the Bombardiers on the road. Attleboro had a terrific first half as Addy Papagolos’ six draw controls led the Bombardiers to a 9-3 lead at the break. OA opened the second half with four straight goals to get back into it and used that momentum, outscoring the hots 6-1 down the stretch. Catie Wilson and Erin Cottam paced OA with four goals apiece while Leanna Hudson added three and Kayla Magit had two goals and four assists. Attleboro’s Bella Cavallini and Amelia Collins each had three goals, Molly Moore found the back of the net twice, and Papagolos, Makenah Stokes, and Gigi Sprovieri each had one. Jordan Mooney chipped in with a pair of assists for Attleboro.

Mansfield, 6 @ Canton, 13 – Final – Emily McCabe scored six times and dished out three assists to lead Canton to an important division win over Mansfield. McCabe scored the 100th goal of her career in the win. Ella Yeaton added a hat trick and Devan Spinale had two goals and two assists for the Bulldogs, who got eight saves from goalie Ashley Balunas. Canton led by two at halftime but turned it on in the second half with a 6-1 run. Mansfield got goals from Tessa Johnson, Lola Varricchione, Maeve Anastasia, Rose Maher (two assists), Ella Palanza, and Stella Moore. Caitlyn Zajac made 10 saves to keep the Hornets in it.

Taunton, 1 @ Foxboro, 19 – Final – Seven different players found the back of the net for the Warriors, who wrapped up a perfect 3-0 opening week of the season. Paige Curran sparked Foxboro’s attack with five goals an three assists and Cate Noone added four tallies and a pair of helpers. Mya Waryas had a hat trick and two assists, while Val Beigel, Mary Collins (three assists), and Grace Riley (two assists) each scored twice. Addie Riley added a goal for Foxboro. Audrey Campbell made three stops and Sofia Lucente had one save to get the win.

Franklin, 19 @ Stoughton, 1 – Final – Fifteen Panthers scored on Thursday, as the perennial Hock power took on the first-year program. Vera Hansen, Maeve Grasso, Norah MacCallum, Raena Crandall, Erin Peterson, Ella Griffin, Morgan Lovell, Abby O’Rourke, and Juliana Owen all scored their first career goals for the Panthers. Ella Mahoney and Maise Streeseman both played well in goal to secure the win.

King Philip, 17 @ North Attleboro, 3 – Final – King Philip secured its third win of the young season, this time with a big win over North Attleboro on the road. Makenzie McDevitt (two assists), Abby MacDonald (assist), and Nikki McDonald (assist) paced the offense with four goals apiece while Sammy Cloutier added a goal and three helpers. Sierra King had a great defensive effort for KP with three caused turnovers and three ground balls while Kelly Holmes had a strong game in the midfield, commanding the draw.

Sharon, 9 @ Milford, 16 – Final – Buoyed by a big start, Milford earned its first win of the season with a 16-9 decision against visiting Sharon. The Scarlet Hawks raced out to an 8-0 lead and never looked back. The Eagles did make a game of it by going on a 4-1 run to cut the deficit to 9-4 but a three-goal spurt from the hosts just before halftime restored the big lead. Sophomore TJ Downing had a team-high four goals to pace the offense, sophomore Yasmin Martinez added three goals, and sophomore Alexa Landry notched one goal and two assists. Seniors Jordan Douglas (three goals, two assists), Carly Haley (two goals, two assists), Emily Croteau (one goal, two assists), and Ava Lebel (one goal) all played well for Milford. Caitlyn Banger made five saves in the win, Erin Michelson chipped in with a goal and an assist and senior Cailyn Paccico chipped in with one assist. Milford’s Bailey Garte had a team-high four goals while Keira Lydeard finished with a hat trick and one assist.




Boys Tennis
King Philip, 0 @ Xaverian, 5 – Final

North Attleboro vs. Dartmouth – Postponed.

Sharon, 1 vs. Brookline, 4 – Final – Junior Alex Budovalcev was the lone winner for the Eagles, rally from a one-set deficit to win in a third-set super tiebreaker, 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.

Taunton, 5 vs. Durfee, 0 – Final – Taunton won all five matches in straight sets to take down visiting Durfee. Mike Kimmer had the closest match of the day, prevailing from a hard-fought first single match with a 6-4, 7-5 win. Martin Frankimet added a 6-3, 6-0 win at second singles and Heitor Sens completed the singles sweep with a 6-3, 6-3 decision. The team of Collin Lofgren and Derek Desseault only dropped two games, winning 6-0, 6-2 at first doubles while Kenny Dias paired with Rowan Kimmer to secure a 6-2, 6-4 win at second doubles.

Girls Tennis
Milford, 3 vs. Whitinsville Christian, 2 – Final – Milford swept both doubles matches and added one more win in singles action to break into the win column with a 3-2 decision over Whitinsville Christine. The team of Ava Merrill and Lily Bogonis secured the win for the Hawks, prevailing victorious in a three-set thriller at first doubles (6-3, 3-6, 6-2). Milford’s second doubles team of Audrey Brannigan and Paige Caldon earned a 6-1, 6-2 win while Kaylee Whitney earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at second singles.

North Attleboro @ Dartmouth – Postponed.

Boys Volleyball

Milford, 3 @ Lincoln-Sudbury, 2 – Final

Taunton, 3 vs. Quincy, 0 – Final – Taunton improved to 3-0 to start the season, landing a sweep over visiting Quincy (25-22, 25-18, 25-17). The Tigers’ two setters both continued to play well as Ty Ekstrom dished out eight assists and have four digs while Daniel Freitas had 14 assists and three digs. Matt Freitas and Antonios Dimakis each had five kills, Owen Kelley and Josh Duncan both had four kills, and Bradley Hylander continued to anchor the defense with nine digs and a strong serve receive.

Franklin Edges Barnstable to Kick-Off Postseason Run

FRANKLIN, Mass. – Franklin has made no secret of its desire to make another deep playoff run, but, even for a team that reached the state semifinal a year ago, it’s natural to feel some extra nerves ahead of the opening tournament game, especially when facing an unfamiliar foe with a still relatively young roster.

The Panthers got a stiff challenge in Friday’s first round game at the Beaver St. Field. Barnstable, the No. 28 seed, was able to withstand Franklin’s pressure for long stretches of the game, keeping within a goal until the final five minutes of a 2-0 loss.

It was the type of battle that can be a reminder for a team that scored 129 goals in the regular season and has gone unbeaten in more than 60 straight league games that things are different once the tournament kicks off.

“You never know,” said Franklin coach Michelle Hess. “I’ve never played them before, I didn’t know anything about them, you can only watch so much film, and they show up and they’re better than I expected, especially being the 28 seed.”

She added, “I don’t think we took them lightly, I just think that, because we’re a young team, we get nervous and it’s tournament and there’s a lot at stake. Today, it took us a while to settle in.”

While Barnstable was able to hold Franklin off the board, the Panthers largely dominated play. The Panthers had an 11-2 edge in corners and the Redhawks didn’t manage a single shot on target, while forcing the Barnstable goalie into 12 saves and causing numerous scrambles in front of the Redhawks goal.

Franklin got off to a quick start with Kaitlyn Carney playing the ball across to Haley Wernig, who forced a save from the right wing. Shaw Downing latched onto the rebound but with a mass of bodies in the crease was unable to get the shot on target. On the resulting corner Payten Crandall had her shot saved and Downing again reacted first to the rebound but the shot was wide.

In the final minute of the quarter, Brooke Taylor intercepted a pass and played the ball up the sideline to Downing, who was able to keep the ball in play to Wernig. Crandall couldn’t touch home the cross at the far post, Downing had her effort saved, and Crandall again was inches from tapping home at the back stick.

“I think we had some frustration,” Hess said about her team’s efforts to find a goal. “We just need to keep reminding them that unfortunately there are games that are going to go this way and you just have to keep pounding. As a team, we’ve never shot the ball wide that many times. We couldn’t find the net today.”

The pattern of play continued in the second. Emily Carney was the main creator for the Panthers, weaving her way through defenders to open space in the middle of the field. Carney teed up Wernig for a shot that was kicked out, then sent a low ball in from the left that was tipped wide by Raena Crandall.

Franklin finally found the breakthrough with 14.4 left in the half. Taylor again started the move with a ball up the right side to Wernig. The sophomore forward beat her marker and then slipped a pass in behind the last defender for Kaitlyn Carney to run onto and the league’s top scorer made no mistake with a shot into the bottom corner.

In the third quarter, Emily Carney went down with an injury and while she was being tended to on the sideline Barnstable had its best spell of the game, forcing a pair of corners and finally giving Franklin freshman goalie Devon Barry something to worry about, although in the end the defense of Ella Griffin, Kaeley Dubriske, Sophia Cuneo, and Lindsay Dennett didn’t allow a shot to get through.

Carney’s return to the field helped Franklin regain control and finish the quarter with a flurry of chances. Her touch at the top of the crease opened space for a shot on goal and Wernig just missed tapping in the rebound. Downing also got a chance with a run through the heart of the Redhawks defense but again the shot was kicked aside.

“She’s a little bit more of a finesse player and I would say her field sense, the way she sees the field, is probably her biggest strength,” Hess said about Carney. “She’s just so talented, her stick skills, and she’s that calming force. Anytime we get her the ball, we move it down the other end. She’s the key to our transition.”

The Panthers were chasing the goal that could seal progress to the next round and early in the fourth Cuneo’s pass off a restart opened space for Downing in the middle, but it was saved. Wernig almost created the second with another run down the wing and her cross into the middle picked out Payten Crandall on the doorstep only for the goalie to make a great stop.

While the coaches were preaching patience and using up the clock, it was a quick restart that led to the second goal. Kaitlyn Carney grabbed the ball quickly and passed it 30 yards to Downing in the middle of the field. She turned and rolled a perfect pass out to Crandall on the left side.

Franklin had numbers in transition for one of the few times in the game and Crandall got the ball back to Downing, who was able to settle the pass and then settle the game with a shot into the corner.

“That was huge,” Hess said. “I had just given them a speech during the timeout, slow it down, take your time, get a good free hit. But, that’s just her field hockey IQ, seeing that and getting it rolling.”

Franklin (17-1-1) will be home on Wednesday afternoon for the Sweet Sixteen to face No. 12 Needham.

Ferguson, Foxboro Defense Hold Franklin to Stalemate

FOXBORO, Mass. – Last season, Franklin rolled through the league unbeaten and scored 124 goals on its run to the Div. 1 state semifinal, which was more than double any other Hockomock League team. The Panthers started this season just as potent in front of goal, with 14 tallies in the opening two games.

Foxboro knew exactly what kind of threat the Panthers would pose on Wednesday evening at Sam Berns Community Field and put together a total team effort to keep the Franklin attack at bay. The game plan worked perfectly.

The Warriors held Franklin to just three penalty corners, the defense stayed packed into the middle, Foxboro threw multiple bodies at last year’s top scorer Kaitlyn Carney, and goalie Kathryn Ferguson came up with a highlight reel stop in the fourth quarter to come away with an impressive 0-0 draw.

“One of the keys to trying to keep the game controlled for us would be our defense and keeping the ball out of the middle and slowing them down as fast as we could,” Foxboro coach Melissa Bordieri explained about her team’s third shutout in three games this season. “I thought we did a really good job of making them do other things and be more creative on the fly.”

Franklin coach Michelle Hess praised Bordieri for putting together a strong plan and the Foxboro players for executing it very well. I was just giving Melissa kudos because that’s how I would’ve played us,” she said.

“They completely packed it in and it was hard for us to generate anything,” Hess continued. “We were super nervous today for some reason. We didn’t play our typical style of play. It was back-and-forth, back-and-forth, not a lot of opportunities and we didn’t take advantage when we did get them.”

While Foxboro was intent on keeping compact defensively, it wasn’t all one-way traffic. In fact, the Warriors had several good chances of their own, including the best look of a tight first quarter when Mya Waryas broke free down the right wing and forced a near post save out of Franklin freshman goalie Devon Barry.

The Panthers were having difficulties getting anything through to goal in the opening 15 minutes. Their best chance came when Raena Crandall charged down a clearance and deflected it off the side of the net. Foxboro’s defense of Catherine Cotter, Macy Quinn, Paige Curran, Val Beigel, and Mia Dinunzio (with help from all the attackers) kept everything outside the circle.

After a tough opening quarter, Franklin seemed to find another gear in the second, but Ferguson was there to back up her defenders.

Carney had a chance in the opening minute of the period that was kicked aside. Seven minutes later, Haley Wernig stole the ball on one end and, after a give-and-go with Carney, raced half the field before forcing another kick save out of the Foxboro goalie. Less than a minute after that, Carney was teed up by Sophia Cuneo for a blast off a penalty corner but again Ferguson was able to get a pad to it.

Right before halftime, Carney again forced her way into the circle and got free for a backhand shot from a tight angle but Cotter was in front to block and clear.

Foxboro gained momentum from going into the break scoreless and carried that energy into the third. Camryn Collins spun and fired a shot towards goal that was tipped just wide of the post by Jennifer Gallagher.

“We have to capitalize on the opportunities we work so hard for,” Bordieri said. “We did a fantastic job against an obviously really strong team, but we’ve got to jump on and capitalize on those too.”

Midway through the third, Foxboro had another good look as Isabelle Chamberlin’s long shot from the left side was kicked away by Barry. The save turned into one of the few transition opportunities Franklin had all night. Shaw Downing raced down the right side, but her cross into the middle was cut out by Quinn in front of a couple of late-arriving Panthers.

Pressure continued to mount, as Franklin grew increasingly anxious about trying to preserve its perfect start to the season. On a corner, Cuneo played the ball out to Carney, who tipped it to her sister Emily for a long shot that was blocked in front. Play stayed alive and Franklin won another corner. This time Kaitlyn Carney took the shot from the top herself and Ferguson came through with a nice stop.

Franklin nearly grabbed the opener with six minutes to play. Emily Carney flicked a shot in front that was tipped by Wernig in front. Ferguson (six saves) appeared to be wrong-footed, but was able to plant and dive at full stretch to get her stick to the shot that seemed destined for the bottom corner, preserving the shutout.

“The diving save and then she jumped right up to make sure,” Bordieri said about her goalie’s late heroics, “They’re a quick team. You can’t make a dive like that and lay there.”

It wasn’t the result that she was looking for, but Hess sees positives in her team getting tested like this early in the season. “We all know other teams are going to go after Kaitlyn,” she said. “So, this was a good learning experience for us that we’re going to have to work with the other girls to pick up the slack. It was a really good learning experience for us.”

Foxboro (2-0-1) will be on the road on Friday afternoon to take on Sharon, which is fresh off its first win of the season. Franklin (2-0-1) will also be on the road Friday, traveling to Taunton.

Boys Soccer
Stoughton, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – Final – Oliver Ames scored to take the lead in the first half but Stoughton equalized with just under 20 minutes to play and the teams split the points with a 1-1 draw. OA sophomore Luke Churchill scored on a terrific shot from distance, taking a quickly played free kick from Casey Milliken, cutting back past a defender and firing a left-footed blast to the top corner from 30 yards out.

Milford, 3 @ Medway, 4 – Final – Milford held a pair of leads in the game but Medway rallied both times, including a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes to get the win. Lucas Nalon Ribero gave the Hawks the lead off a cross from Arthur Tome, and John Borges doubled the lead off a through ball from Eduardo Santana to make it 2-0 but the hosts rallied for two goals to make it 2-2 at the break. Milford went ahead again, this time as Tome finished off a feed from Santana but Medway scored twice in the final 10 minutes to get the win.

Franklin, 2 @ King Philip, 0 – Final – Franklin scored just before halftime and then once more just before the final whistle to earn a 2-0 win, bouncing back from a setback on Friday at OA. Hansy Jacques scored for the second straight match, putting the visitors ahead in the 37th minute. Andrew O’Neill set up Noah Cain in the 75th minute to double the Panthers’ advantage.








Girls Soccer
Oliver Ames, 2 @ Stoughton, 1 – Final – Oliver Ames overcame an early deficit to come away with a win and two points on the road over the Black Knights. Stoughton took the lead just five minutes into the game before the Tigers pulled level midway through the first half when Lucinda Li Cotter headed in a service from Emma Gavin. With 10 minutes to go, Mary Cross finished off a loose ball in the box after a scramble for the winner. Lynn Elhayek and Jolie Diaz both had strong games for OA.

North Attleboro, 1 vs. Braintree, 1 – Final – Braintree scored inside the opening minutes of the match but North Attleboro leveled 10 minutes later and the teams finished tied at 1-1. Trailing 1-0 under four minutes in, North’s Emma Pratt headed in a cross from Lily Adams in the 14th minute to make it 1-1.




Field Hockey
Attleboro, 8 @ Milford, 0 – Final – Attleboro junior Siobhan Landers scored a hat trick to lead the Bombardiers to a big win on the road over Milford. Landers also added an assist, Nora Desrosiers scored a pair of goals, Marley Young had one goal and one assist, Mackenzie Cooper and Taylor Henry each found the back of the net once, and Jordan Mooney recorded two assists in the win.

King Philip, 2 @ Franklin, 7 – Final – King Philip cut the deficit down to two with a goal less than four minutes into the fourth quarter but Franklin finished with three straight goals to pull away for the win. KP took the lead less than two minutes in when senior Leah Santoro scored her first career goal and held the lead for the majority of the quarter before Franklin’s Raena Crandall (from Shaw Downing and Kaitlyn Carney) scored with a minute left to make it 1-1. Carney scored twice in the second quarter, the first unassisted and the second from Haley Wernig and Sophia Cuneo, to give the Panthers a 3-1 halftime lead, and Emily Carney (from Kaitlyn Carney) scored the lone goal of the third to extend Franklin’s lead to 4-1 going into the fourth. Junior Mara Boldy converted a pass from Kelly Holmes four minutes into the fourth to cut the deficit to 4-2 but goals from Wernig (from E. Carney), Crandall (from K. Carney), and Kaitlyn Carney iced the win. Devon Barry made eight saves in net for the Panthers while Haley Bright had a stellar performance in the cage for KP. Holmes, and seniors Avery Hayes and Maggie Murphy all played well defensively for the Warriors.

North Attleboro, 4 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – After a scoreless first quarter, North netted a pair of goals in the second before adding one more in each of the third and fourth quarters to take down Taunton. Julia Puccio opened the scoring with an unassisted goal with 2:56 left in the half and then recorded an assist on North’s second goal, smacking a shot off a corner that was redirected in by Caroline Folan. Folan added to North’s lead early in the third, taking a feed from Ava Spencer and using a big sweeping shot to find the back of the net. In the fourth, Spencer got her first goal of the game with Puccio getting another assist.

Oliver Ames, 9 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Erin Cottam scored a team-high four goals and Oliver Ames entered the win column with a 9-0 decision at Stoughton. Cottam also had two helpers in the win while Megan Crabtree added a goal and two assists, and Julia Maclaine was an assist machine with four on the day. Olivia Stevens and Kayla Kenney each added two goals apiece in the win.

Sharon, 0 @ Canton, 9 – Final

Foxboro, 2 @ Mansfield, 0 – Final – After a scoreless first half, Foxboro finally solved Mansfield in the second half, scoring once in each of the third and fourth quarters to get the win. Mary Collins broke the stalemate midway through the third quarter, scoring at 7:32 to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. Jenny Gallagher gave the Warriors a key insurance goal at 12:07 of the fourth. Lily Danehy was excellent in net once again for the Hornets, making 14 saves.




Volleyball
Sharon, 3 @ Canton, 2 – Final – A seesaw back-and-forth battle saw Sharon emerged with a hard-fought 3-2 win (26-24, 16-25, 25-21, 22-25, 15-11) over host Canton. Zoey Scibelli, Kaitlin Bigham, and Kelly Schiavo all played well for Canton.

King Philip, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – Final – A battle between two of the best teams in the state lived up to the hype as the Panthers claimed a 3-0 (26-24, 27-25, 25-20) win in an extremely competitive and tight contest. For KP, Emily Sawyer landed 14 kills along with a pair of aces, Sami Shore added six kills and three aces, Ahunna James recorded five kills, and Olivia O’Neil chipped in with four kills and two aces.

Foxboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 3 – Final – Foxboro won an epic third set to keep the matching going but the Hornets closed it out in the next set to secure a 3-1 (25-22, 25-21, 30-32, 25-20) win in a highly competitive and entertaining match. For the Warriors, Shannon McElhinney had four aces and 16 digs, Alyssa Cloherty dished out 19 assists to go with 11 digs, and Mallorie Meyer had a strong all-around game with 10 digs, six kills, and four aces.

Taunton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 3 – Final – Taunton kept the match going with a win in the third set but North Attleboro closed it out in four, taking a 3-1 (25-19, 25-14, 22-25, 25-17) win over the Tigers. Junior setter Remi Zides dished out 20 assists and the Rocketeers had a balanced attack: freshman middle Lincoln Abramaitys recorded six kills and four solo blocks and senior middle Mariah Barbosa added nine kills and two solo blocks. Defensively, senior Avery Bitar recorded right digs for the Big Red. For Taunton, Anna Abouzied had a strong all-around game with five aces, four kills, four digs, and three assists. Megan Rose, Sadie Herry, and Mia Fernandes all played well defensively and on serve receive to keep the Tigers in the match.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Stoughton, 1 – Final – Oliver Ames bounced back from a tight loss in the first set to win three in a row and take home a victory from Stoughton, 3-1 (25-27, 25-21, 25-18, 25-15). Claire O’Rourke was a force at the service line with 27 service points along with 13 kills and 12 digs. Sophomore Clare Kavoulis dished out 39 assists, senior Maddie Homer had 28 digs and 21 serve receptions, and junior Sarah Hilliard landed 19 kills.

Attleboro, 3 @ Milford, 0 – Final – Attleboro went on the road and won three straight to knock off Milford (25-13, 25-22, 25-17). Natalie Brojek continued her strong start to the season with 30 assists, three aces, and three blocks. Julia Leonardo continued to pace the attack with 13 kills while Addie Shelton had a big game, notching nine kills and three aces. Sadie Whitmarsh added 13 digs and three aces in the win.

Oliver Ames, 149 @ Stoughton, 193 – Final – Oliver Ames made the short trip to Easton Country Club and emerged with a win over host Stoughton. Juniors Sean Kearns and David Rodgers shared medalist honors by shooting an even par round of 36 to pace the Tigers. Senior Daniel Paul added a 37, and Lucas Riley and Michael McGinnis each chipped in with a 40. For Stoughton, Mason Page and David Monaghan shot a 45 and a 46, respectively.

Taunton, 1 @ Sharon, 5 – Final – Click here for a photo gallery of this game. – Sharon senior Brandon Mauricio bagged a brace and the Eagles exploded for four second half goals to start the season with a 5-1 decision over visiting Taunton. Just when it looked like the teams were destined to head into the break scoreless, Sharon senior Tyler Goodman won an aerial duel and freshman Vlad Shkolnikov played a terrific ball forward to Mauricio, who cut the ball back onto his right foot and deposited his shot far post for a 1-0 lead just before the halftime whistle. The second half started with fireworks as the teams combined for three goals in the opening 10 minutes. Senior Adam Eastman delivered a free kick into the area from just over midfield that saw classmate Rhys Davis rise up and meet with his head and play it to the far post. Rishi Shetty was first to it, sending it back across the face of goal where Mauricio was there to bang it home from close range. Taunton responded in quick fashion as senior Riley Rebello ran into a loose ball behind the defense and squared up a pass to Javonte Fernandes, who showed great patience to touch past the keeper and finish from in close. But just moments later, the Eagles were back ahead by two. Eastman played a perfectly paced through ball to Shetty, who made a diagonal run past the defense and calmly finished past the keeper. Miguel Vasconcelos added a fourth for the Eagles on a pass from sophomore James Jennings, and Eastman was credited for the fifth goal as his corner was knocked in for an own goal.

Girls Soccer
Sharon, 5 @ Taunton, 1 – Final – Five different players scored for the Eagles in a season-opening road win. Sofia Goclowski, Carly Pinnix, Autumn Simon, Maya Sajeev, and Olivia Landstein each found the back of the net for Sharon. Jessica Li had a pair of assists on her Sharon debut and Nasiba Aikulova also dished out a pair of helpers. Emily Calderon had the line goal for the Tigers.








Field Hockey
Mansfield, 1 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – Mansfield senior Lily Danehy turned away a dozen shots for the shutout and the Hornets scored the lone goal of the game midway through the second quarter to open the season with a close 1-0 decision over Attleboro. Junior Liv Barry scored the game-winner with 6:19 left in the second quarter, finishing off an assist from sophomore Ella Palanza. Danehy turned away 12 saves, including four in the fourth quarter during an Attleboro offensive flurry to preserve the shutout and the win.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ Franklin, 7 – Final – Franklin opened its season with a solid win over OA. Kaitlyn Carney scored three times and finished with four points and Emily Carney added four assists to power the Panthers to the win. Kaitlyn scored off an Emily assist to open the scoring and then added a second from a Sophia Cuneo assist to make it 2-0 after one quarter. Cuneo got her first goal off an Emily Carney assist in the second. Raena Crandall added a goal before halftime, assisted by Kaitlyn Carney. In the third, Emily Carney assisted on goals by Haley Wernig and Kaitlyn Carney. Sydney Rogan added an unassisted goal in the fourth to wrap up the scoring. Devon Barry made one save in the first half for the Panthers.

Stoughton, 0 @ King Philip, 9 – Final – Five different Warriors found the back of the net and seven players registered a point in a season-opening win over visiting Stoughton. Junior Kelly Holmes led the charge offensively for the hosts, netting a pair of goals along with a pair of assists while classmate Mara Boldy scored a hat trick. Junior Nikki McDonald chipped in with two goals and an assist, sophomore Abby MacDonald registered one point and one assist, and senior Sydney Maryland notched her first career goal. Haley Bright had the shutout in net for KP. Stoughton senior Katherine Giroux had a strong game and played with high energy while freshman Casey Groppi played hard defensively the entire game for the Black Knights in her varsity debut.

Volleyball
Foxboro, 0 @ Milford, 3 – Final – Milford emerged victorious on a closely contested first set and went on to take the next two to complete the sweep, 3-0 (26-24, 25-15, 25-21). For Foxboro, Shannon McElhinney had a terrific game defensively with 19 digs and three aces.

Stoughton, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – Final – King Philip opened its 2022 campaign with a 3-0 sweep, taking down visiting Stoughton (25-12, 25-11, 25-11). The Warriors used a balanced attack with senior Ahunna James notching a team-high eight kills, senior Sami Shore adding four kills, four aces, and two blocks, and senior Olivia O’Neil chipped in with four kills. Senior Emily Sawyer had a big day from the service line with seven aces and added a pair of kills at the net.

Sharon, 1 @ Taunton, 3 – Final – Taunton bounced back from a close loss in the first set to win three in a row and improve to 2-0 on the season with a sweep of Sharon (23-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-22). Hayley Krockta landed 11 kills and Sayla DePina added six kills to pace the Taunton offense. The Tigers had another big day from the service line, dropping 23 aces just one game after landing 18 against New Bedford in the opening. Anna Abouzied accounted for nearly a third of them with seven, adding 14 assists as well. Defensively, Mia Fernandes had 11 digs and Megan Rose added six digs.

Mansfield, 1 @ Attleboro, 3 – Final – Mansfield kept the game alive with a win in the third set and nearly pushed the match to five but Attleboro closed it out in a thrilling fourth game to take a 3-1 decision in the first contest held inside the new Attleboro High School gym (25-19, 25-23, 23-25, 28-26). Sophomore Julia Leonardo picked up where she left off a season ago, landing a team-high 16 kills to pace the offense. Junior Natalie Brojek added 17 assists and sophomore Julia Modelo landed six aces in the win.

Canton, 3 @ North Attleboro, 0 – Final – Canton edged out North in a closely contested second set and went on to complete the sweep in the next set to open the season with a win (25-18, 28-26, 25-19). Junior Jess Wright led the way offensively for the Dogs with 11 kills, eight digs, and a pair of aces while Sally Hoban had a great varsity debut with eight kills and an ace. Zoe Scibelli ran the show defensively with 14 digs and one kill while Kaitlin Brigham had a great blocking performance in the win.

Boys Cross Country
Canton, 37 @ Nauset, 20 – Final – Luke Darling was Canton’s top runner down the Cape, finishing in second with a time of 20:48.

Girls Cross Country
Canton, 34 @ Nauset, 21 – Final – The top runner for the Bulldogs was Tahlia Weaver, who finished in third place and set a personal best with a time of 25:57.




Golf
Mansfield, 165 vs. Xaverian, 148 – Final – Mansfield dropped its first match of the season in a non-league contest against visiting Xaverian. Nathan McClean, Cody Nieratko, and Hayden O’Connor each shot a 41 for the Hornets while Drew Urban rounded out the scoring with a 42.

Sharon, 182 @ Stoughton, 186 – Final – James Spoto and Dylan Cummings each fired a round of 44 to help Sharon secure a close win over division foe Stoughton at Easton Country Club. Stoughton’s Mason Page was the match medalist with a low round of 42 but the Eagles earned the close win. Reid Nierman added a 46 for Sharon while both Patrick Dykeman and Jacob Kaufman shot 48 to round out the scoring for the Eagles.

Franklin, 144 @ Milford, 148 – Final – Franklin pulled out another tight win early on this season, this time besting Milford by four strokes. It’s the Panthers’ third win in four matches winning by five or fewer strokes. Jack Hagerty had another big performance for the Panthers, earning match medalist honors with a low round of 34 at Hopedale Country Club. Tyler O’Brien added a 35, Brendan Collins came in at 36, and Cam Labrie chipped in with a 39. For Milford, Nate Lawrence fired a round of 36, Jacob Hipolito and Anthony LaPierre each shot a 37, and Eric Farrell finished with a 38 on the day.

Attleboro, 177 @ Taunton, 188 – Final – Leo Lombardo continued his strong start to the season, earning match medalist honors and helping Attleboro claim a win over Taunton at Segregansett Country Club. Lombardo fired a low round of 42 to lead the way for the Bombardiers, Carter Shelton added a 44, Bradley Martin finished with a 45 and Ryan Hill rounded out the scoring with a 46. Dwayne Burgo had a team-low round of 45 for the Tigers, Logan Letourneau added a 46, Alex Dias chipped in with a 48, and Jesse Chaves capped the scoring with a 49.

Canton, 179 @ Foxboro, 176 – Final – Foxboro came away with a huge division win, taking down Canton and handing the Bulldogs their first division loss since October 2018, snapping a 35-match Davenport winning streak. Patrick Callahan had a team-low round of 40 for the Warriors, Mat Sullivan chipped in with a 44, and both Reese Curreri and Josh Connolly shot 46 on the way for Foxboro. Canton’s Huck McCready earned match medalist honors after firing a 39 on the day.

Historic Tourney Run Ends in Semifinal for Franklin

BURLINGTON, Mass. – Andover had been in the state semifinal in three of the past four seasons and won the 2017 state title. With nine seniors on the roster, the Golden Warriors had plenty of experience to call on, particularly at this late stage of the season. In contrast, Franklin started four freshmen and were making the Panthers were making their first state semifinal appearance.

Experience paid off in Tuesday night’s semifinal at Burlington High, as top-seeded Andover booked a return to the final with a dominating 5-0 win. The Golden Warriors will face No. 2 seed Walpole. It wasn’t the ending that Franklin (20-2-0) had hoped for, but while head coach Michelle Hess was speaking after the game, in the background the Panthers were reminding themselves that this was a historic run, and one to build on for the future.

“They’re very highly skilled,” Hess said of Andover. “We knew coming in that they were going to be skilled and fast, super fast. I think the one thing that I was a little disappointed in was they were able to get us frazzled and we weren’t able to play our game and execute and I think the frustration level got a little high for us.”

While Andover got off to a decent start and were pushing the Panthers back, it was Franklin that had the first chance of note. Kaitlyn Carney made a run down the right wing and fired a pass across the front of goal, narrowly missing the stick of freshman Haley Wernig. Unfortunately, it would be the last chance Franklin would have for a while.

The Golden Warriors took control of the game and had the Panthers on their heels. Franklin was defending well overall, mostly keeping the ball out of the middle. One angled ball into the crease was slowed down by Kendall Jones and kicked aside by goalie Megan Sullivan.

It was one of only two saves that Sullivan had to make in the first, as Jones, Kate O’Rourke, Kaeley Dubriske, and freshmen Ella Mahoney and Emily Carney all made big plays to keep Andover at bay. The top seed nearly opened the scoring in the final minute of the quarter, when Emma Reilly’s blast from a corner found the back of the net but was ruled out for being beyond the circle.

Franklin nearly took a lead against the run of play, earning their only corner of the match as time ran out in the first. Jones played it out to Kaitlyn Carney, who fired a shot towards goal, but just wide of the post and there was no touch out in front.

“There were flashes of greatness,” Hess said. “We got into their circle and got some corners and it was a little back and forth more in the first quarter. I’d say the first quarter was our better quarter. In the second quarter, I think they were able to get into our heads a little bit and change our game plan.”

The disallowed goal was a warning and Andover repeated the trick just two minutes into the second. This time the ball was played out to Rose MacLean and she slid a pass to Reilly, who had shifted position to get an open shooting lane. Her blast made it 1-0.

It was nearly two goals seven minutes later when MacLean teed up Ella Brockelman for a shot, but Sullivan was equal to it. Franklin tried to break but it actually opened up space for a quick Andover transition. The ball was played across the crease to the back post and Haley Carver raced forward to get a touch in front of Sullivan’s dive and squeeze the ball in from a tight angle.

Reilly added her second and Andover’s third just a minute later to build a three-goal cushion before halftime.

The Panthers used the break to regroup and did get a shot on goal early in the third. Freshman Raena Crandall cut in from the left wing and her shot to the back post forced a sliding block by Andover goalie Adelaide Weeden.

Any momentum that Franklin might have felt was short-lived. Reilly had another good look off a corner and it was tipped home by Hailey Doherty. Before the Panthers could settle, Andover added a fifth, as Reilly completed her hat trick.

“At halftime, we tried to settle them down and say don’t let them take you out of your game, but once again I think the experience of them and the inexperience of my team played out,” Hess admitted.

To their credit, the Panthers continued to battle right to the end of the game. Kaitlyn and Emily Carney both had shots on goal and forward Shaw Downing continued to press the Andover back line up to the final whistle, but the Golden Warriors proved why they came into the tournament as the top seed and the team to beat.

“We’re excited,” Hess said about the potential for the team going into next year. “We had a great season. I couldn’t be anymore proud, they accomplished all our goals.

She added, “I definitely think this set the precedent for us moving forward and I’m looking forward to hopefully being back next year.”

#5 Winchester, 1 @ #4 Franklin, 4 – Final – Kaitlyn Carney scored twice and freshmen Haley Wernig and Raena Crandall each scored once, as Franklin beat Winchester to advance to the Div. 1 Final Four. It is Franklin’s first-ever state semifinal appearance. Carney opened the scoring late in the first quarter on a penalty stroke and then doubled the lead with a blast from a corner, assisted by Kendall Jones. Wernig made it 3-0 Franklin in the third quarter by forcing a turnover and then scoring from a tight angle. After the Sachems got one back in the fourth, Crandall popped up at the back post for a near instant response and restored the three-goal cushion. Franklin will face the winner of No. 1 Andover and No. 8 Shrewsbury at a date and time to be determined for a spot in the state title game.

Emily Sawyer added six kills and a pair of blocks while Samantha Asprelli chipped in with four aces and 10 digs.

#9 Canton, 1 @ #8 Dartmouth, 3 – Final – After a rocky first two sets, Canton kept its season alive with a win in the third and battled hard in the fourth but ultimately fell on the road, 3-1 (13-25, 13-25, 25-21, 19-25). Syd Gallery (seven kills, no errors) and Anna Verille (19 digs) set the tone with their calm presence and confident play. Taylor Reynolds worked tirelessly to run the offense, finishing with 22 assists, Talya DeGraw had a great match with six kills and six digs, and both Amaiah Christian and Katie Dever played well in the middle.

#10 Woburn, 3 @ #7 Oliver Ames, 2 – Final – Click here for a Photo Gallery from this game. – Oliver Ames battled back throughout the entire match but couldn’t overcome an early deficit in the fifth set in a tight, competitive battle with Woburn, falling 3-2 (24-26, 25-22, 21-25, 25-23, 10-15). The Tigers trailed 24-18 in the first set before fighting off six straight set points to knot it a 24-24 before the Tanners scored two straight points to take a 1-0 lead. Woburn jumped out to an 18-10 lead in the second set by the comeback kids rattled off a 15-4 run to grab a 25-22 win in the second set and tie it 1-1. After the Tanners retook the lead by winning the third, OA led throughout the fourth to send it to a deciding fifth set. After falling behind 7-1, OA battled back but couldn’t catch the Tanners before the 15-point mark. Senior Hadley Rhodes dished out 34 assists and had four aces, junior Maddie Homer anchored the defense with 37 digs, sophomore Sarah Hilliard played well at the net with 14 kills along with three aces and junior Courtney Raymond finished with 11 kills and two blocks.

Silva de Souza headed in a great cross from classmate Rhuan Carvalho to put the Knights ahead in the 64th minute. Sophomore keeper Ben Shirey made a terrific diving save two minutes later to help preserve the lead at the time.

Girls Soccer
King Philip, 0 vs. Hingham, 3 – Final

Milford, 2 vs. Malden Catholic, 1 – Final – Amy Oliveira broke a 1-1 tie midway through the second half to earn the Hawks a win in the regular season finale. Brooke Ferreira opened the scoring for Milford and Kailany Ferreira made 10 saves to help the Hawks close on a high note.

Oliver Ames, 4 @ North Attleboro, 1 – Final – Camryn O’Connor recorded three points as the Tigers went on the road and beat North Attleboro, clinching sole possession of the Hockomock League’s Davenport division title. O’Connor scored a pair of goals for OA, who had a 3-0 advantage at halftime. Halle Kander and Katie Gibson also scored for the Tigers while Lucinda Li Cotter, Alexa Lane, and Allison Evin each had an assist.

Stoughton, 1 @ Sharon, 4 – Final – Sofia Goclowski and Olivia Soby each scored twice and assisted on another to help the Eagles split the season series with Stoughton. Bianca Casna scored for the Black Knights. Amber Marcus-Blank had another strong performance for Sharon’s defense. Casna and Makenzie O’Connor proved to be a solid pairing in the attack for Stoughton and Samantha Tran had another solid all-around game.

Sharon, 0 vs. Norwell, 1 – Final

Foxboro, 5 @ North Attleboro, 2 – Final

Milford, 0 @ Franklin, 11 – Final – Franklin exploded for five goals in the first quarter of the game and never looked back to knock off Milford, finishing undefeated in league action this year. Kaitlyn Carney had a hat trick in the first quarter and finished the game with four goals while Shaw Downing (three goals) and Haley Wernig (two goals) also scored in the first quarter. Delaney Hess and Emily Carney (two assists) each added a goal in the win while Kendall Jones and Raena Crandall each had an assist in the win.

King Philip, 0 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – After a close contest in the first meeting, King Philip and Attleboro finished level this time around as both squads wrapped up their respective regular seasons with a point. Sophomore Kelly Holmes had another outstanding game for the Warriors with eight shots on goal and a handful of corners created. Holmes also played well defensively, thwarting the Bombardiers’ offensive attempts throughout the game. Christina Gifun, Molly Piller, and Margo Riley also played well for KP.

Taunton, 2 @ Mansfield, 1 – Final – After a scoreless first half, Taunton found the back of the net twice to knock off Mansfield on the road and put themselves in position to possibly make the playoffs under the state’s new rating system. According to the MIAA’s latest update, the Tigers sat at 36th in Division 1 but have gone 2-1 since (the top 32 rated teams make it plus any team over .500). Caelen O’Leary (from Ashley Amaro) put the visitors ahead and Jasmine Lucier (from Braeley MacDonald) doubled the lead. Maddie Brown scored in the fourth quarter for Mansfield. Em Gannon made 11 saves in net for the win while Kylie Thorpe, Kaysie DeMoura, and Thalia Nogueira also played well for the Tigers.

Volleyball
Canton, 3 vs. Quincy, 0 – Final – Canton picked up one of its best wins of the season, sweeping Quincy 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-19). Quincy is one of the top-ranked teams in Division 1 and won its division in the Patriot League this season. Syd Gallery (nine kills, two blocks, six digs, and two aces) and Talya DeGraw (five kills, 15 digs, two aces) both had strong all-around games for the Bulldogs while. Fatima Sidibay added six kills and four blocks. Anna Verille anchored the defense with 19 digs and Taylor Reynolds ran the offense with 29 assists.

Attleboro, 0 @ Mansfield, 1 – Final – Mansfield ended the regular season on a high note, knocking off Attleboro in a well-played game by two evenly matched sides. The lone goal of the game came in the 9th minute of the game when Danny Rowe finished off a flicked on header by Liam Anastasia. Michael Caridi had the throw-in to get the sequence started. Caridi, Dylan Buchanan, Kevin McCarthy, and Ian Leeds played well defensively in front of Jack Lasbury-Casey, who made nine saves for his eighth shutout of the year.

Milford, 3 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Milford junior Arthur Tome bagged a first half brace as the Scarlet Hawks claimed sole possession of the Kelley-Rex division title with a win over Taunton. Eduardo Santana earned a penalty kick and Tome buried it, and then Santana got an assist to set up Tome for a 2-0 led. Chris Tocci added to the lead with a goal in the second half, finishing off a feed from Nick Ribeiro.

North Attleboro, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – Final – Oliver Ames finally solved the puzzle that was the North Attleboro defense, scoring the lone goal of the game with less than five minutes left to play. The Rocketeers denied the Tigers throughout the game with a defensive-minded approach but OA freshman Casey Milliken finished off a pass from Antonio Fernandes to help the hosts earn two points in OA’s season finale. North Attleboro will finish its regular season on Saturday against Attleboro in the annual Leach & Garner Cup.

Girls Soccer
Mansfield, 1 @ Attleboro, 1 – Final – Mansfield and Attleboro traded first half goals and finished in a draw. With the point, the Bombardiers clinched a return to the postseason for the first time since 2014. Kara Santos opened the scoring, finishing a corner kick from Tarynn Smith midway through the first half. About 11 minutes later, Attleboro equalized to seal a critical point.

Canton, 0 @ Foxboro, 1 – Final

King Philip, 0 @ Franklin, 2 – Final – After a scoreless first half, Franklin finally broke through a stingy King Philip defense just over a minute into the second half and added a late insurance goal to get the win. The Panthers clinched the Kelley-Rex division title outright with the victory at home. Freshman Raena Crandall scored an unassisted goal 68 seconds into the third quarter while freshman Haley Wernig doubled the lead with less than five minutes to play in the fourth quarter. Sophia Cuneo, Emily Carney, Kaeley Dubriske all played well for the Panthers. KP sophomore Kelly Holmes had an outstanding game, nearly scoring on a pair of occasions. Seniors Margo Riley, Haley Izydorczak, and Lily Brown also played well for the Warriors while junior Haley Bright recorded 10 saves.

Taunton, 2 @ Milford, 0 – Final – Taunton scored once in each half to grab a win on the road over Milford, sweeping the season series with the Hawks. Junior Caelyn O’Leary put the visitors out in front off an assist from senior Kylie Thorpe and the Tigers took that 1-0 lead into the halftime break. Ashley Amaro scored an unassisted goal in the second half to double Taunton’s lead while Em Gannon recorded the shutout in net for the Tigers.

Stoughton, 2 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – Sydney Menz and Mia Allie each scored once as Stoughton went on the road and picked up two points with a victory over the Eagles. Stephanie Costeria and Sarah Horner combined to earn the shutout and win in net for the Black Knights while Jane Hendrixson played well for Sharon.




Volleyball
Mansfield, 1 @ Attleboro, 3 – Final – While it looked like Attleboro was going to make the playoffs based on their latest ranking, the Bombardiers made sure they were headed to the postseason for the first time since 2008 by scoring an upset over Mansfield, 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-11, 25-23). Attleboro earned its ninth win of the season, securing a .500 record which is an automatic qualifier for the playoffs.In the win, Natalie Brojek dished out 29 assists and had a strong showing at the service line with nine aces. Lilly Boedeker (10 digs) and Julia Leonardo (eight digs, 15 kills) anchored the defense for the hosts.

Canton, 3 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final – Canton capped off its league schedule with a sweep on the road over Foxboro, taking a 3-0 verdict (25-14, 25-15, 25-18). It was another great team effort for the Bulldogs, led by Amaiah Christian with three kills, two blocks, two digs, and an ace. Jess Vo played great defense in her first varsity start while Zoe Scibelli also had a great defensive match.

North Attleboro, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – Final – Oliver Ames entered Thursday’s match already having earned no less than a share of the Davenport division title, but the Tigers didn’t want to share. OA won the title outright for the first time with a 3-0 sweep (25-20, 25-15, 25-18) of North Attleboro, avenging a loss to the Rocketeers from earlier this season. Sophomore Sarah Hilliard put down 18 kills and added 16 digs in the win, senior Hadley Rhodes recorded 26 assists, senior Kelli Crowley added four blocks, and senior Amanda Barth chipped in with seven aces.
