#15 Stoughton, 2 vs. #18 Diman, 0 – Final – Stoughton senior Josh Mitchell opened the scoring three minutes into the second half off an assist from goalie Kyle Silverman and Loubensky Lucas doubled the Black Knights’ lead 10 minutes later, finishing off a cross from freshman Fabio Ponce De Leon. Stoughton advances to the D2 South First Round and will travel to #2 Greater New Bedford (17-1) on Friday at 6:00.

#17 Taunton, 3 @ #16 Wellesley, 1 – Final
#18 Milford, 0 @ #15 Silver Lake, 4 – Final

#11 Oliver Ames, 2 vs. #22 New Bedford, 0 – Final – Missy Krim scored in the first half off an assist from Dimitra Efremidis and Nicole Walker added a goal in the second half. Head coach Janice Sundell said Katie Davenport played well on defense for the Tigers while Cassie Gavin made six saves.
#18 Stoughton, 2 @ #15 Barnstable, 3 – Final – Mia Russell and Courtney Campbell scored for Stoughton but Barnstable scored with just seven seconds left to escape with a win.
#19 King Philip, 1 @ #13 Plymouth South, 0 – Final (3OT) – King Philip kept Plymouth South off the board while Casie Curtin and Caitlin Donahue scored to lift the Warriors in a stroke off. KP advances to the D1 South First Round, where they will travel to #4 Franklin on Friday at 2:30.
#21 Attleboro, 3 @ #12 Dighton-Rehoboth, 0 – Final – Attleboro got a hat trick from Emily Houle and Quincy Harding assisted on a pair of them to help the Bombardiers advance. Attleboro will play #5 Dennis-Yarmouth on Friday at 2:30 in the D1 South First Round.
#23 Canton, 1 @ #10 Bridgewater-Raynham, 0 – Final – Lindsey Nolte scored midway through the first half and Taylor Carrington had a strong game in net for the Bulldogs. Canton advances to the D1 South First Round, where they will travel to #7 Norwood (13-4-1) on Friday at 2:30.

Field Hockey Players to Watch in 2015

Hannah Friend, Senior – Oliver Ames
The 2014 HockomockSports.com Player of they Year is back for her senior season and Friend will be looking to extend a remarkable career for the Tigers. OA’s best attacker, Friend can be the provider and the finisher and she also helps out in midfield for the reigning Davenport champs. Teams will be keying on her, but Friend has the skills to push OA back to the sectional final.
Cassie Gavin, Senior – Oliver Ames
Gavin was the HockomockSports.com First Team goalie last season and she will be back to try and get OA to another league title and possibly a run at the sectional title as well. The Tigers lost several key pieces so Gavin’s leadership will be important in the defense as will quickness and ability to read the game and snuff out a break. With Gavin in goal and Friend up front, OA will have high expectations again this Fall.
Emily Houle, Senior – Attleboro
The Bombardiers will be looking to get back to the playoffs after missing out in 2014 and having 10-goal scorer Emily Houle back is a good start. With the Kelley-Rex being as talented as it is, Houle will be a key player to help Attleboro compete. It’s always a positive for a program when they can return a goal scorer like Houle is.
Sam Jones, Senior – Franklin
Franklin will once again be considered a favorite for the Kelley-Rex crown and goalie Sam Jones is one of the reasons why. After graduating some of the top scorers from last season, the Panthers will be counting on Jones, a HockomockSports.com Second Teamer from 2014, to backstop a tight defense. Jones, who had 10 shutouts last season, has the size and agility to be once again one of the top goalies in the Hock.
Brigid Loftus, Senior – Sharon
It was a tough 2014 for the Eagles but goalie Brigid Loftus was a big bright spot. It seemed like almost every game Loftus was coming up with double digit save numbers for Sharon. With a good amount of skilled players ready to go in 2015, having Loftus in goal will be a great starting point for the Eagles.
Caroline Maher, Senior – Mansfield
A year removed from scoring 14 goals as a junior, Caroline Maher is a key returning player for the defender Kelley-Rex champions. Whether it be in field hockey or lacrosse, Maher has a nose for scoring goals, which will be key for a Hornets team that graduated a good amount of talent. However, with Maher and a handful of other skilled players back, Mansfield will be right in the thick of the things for the Kelley-Rex title.
Mcayla Moody, Senior – North Attleboro
The Rocketeers had a tremendous 2014 season but lost of a lot of talent when the Class of 2015 graduated. However, Mcayla Moody is a key piece back this season for head coach Karen Folan. Moody, who was n the HockomockSports.com Third Team for field hcokey last year, will play a big role in the Rocketeers’ journey to get back to the postseason.
Lindsey Nolte, Senior – Canton
Canton’s Lindsey Nolte is another Hockomock League All Star from 2014 that is back for this season. Nolte will just be one of a handful of key pieces that the Bulldogs have back this season and because of that, Canton will be a serious contender for the Davenport title. Nolte, a forward, will add an experienced scoring threat right off the bat, which is key.
Taylor Reutlinger, Senior – Franklin
The Panthers will rely on the leadership of Reutlinger, who will be captain for the second straight year and will be in the stating lineup for the third straight year. Reutlinger controls the midfield and is a key player on corners, both on offense and defense. His distribution and vision will be key for the Panthers this season.
Jessica Palmer, Senior – Milford
There aren’t a lot of 2014 Hockomock League All Stars returning for this season btu Milford’s Jessica Palmer is one of them. Palmer is a speedy forward that will be a vital part of the Scarlet Hawks’ offense this year. The Scarlet Hawks had eight losses last year that were by three goals or less so having a forward back like Palmer will be key if the Scarlet Hawks want to compete for a Davenport title.
Jordan Wade, Senior – Taunton
The Tigers showed last year that the program is heading in the right direction and Jordan Wade has been a big reason for turning things around. Wade, a captain this year, is a three sport athlete that really shines in all three of them. A member of the HockomockSports.com Third Team and a Hockomock League All Star a year ago, Wade will be one of the top players this season.
